SPALTED BEECH BUTTER DISH
HAND TURNED IN HOME SPALTED BEECH
Spalting is a colourisation process of timber which is achieved by leaving logs covered in leaves to attract a fungus which penetrates the slow seasoning logs for at least a year. The logs are then kiln and air dried, halting the process, resulting in dramatic figuring within the grain.
